What Revealed Itself Over Time
As I listened to stories — my own and others’ — clear patterns began to surface.
Not in what people had been through, but in the recurring themes that either interfered with forward movement or supported it.
These stories came from people who felt stuck in the aftermath of tragedy, mishap, or mayhem — and from those who had found ways to move through struggle, conflict, and disruption, integrate what had changed, and continue forward.
Through years of lived experience, listening, client work, teaching, reflection, and research, five themes consistently reappeared.
Theme 1
Five major language and lifestyle patterns complicate and prolong suffering
Often operating automatically — and often without awareness.
Theme 2
Five umbrella loss classifications shape how loss is experienced and understood
These classifications illuminate nuance within a loss event and help identify concurrent forms of loss — without ranking, minimizing, or comparing experiences.
Theme 3
Five universal facets exist in a hierarchy unique to each individual, driving both suffering and success — to varying degrees
The same internal structure influencing struggle also informs resilience, clarity, and potential.
Theme 4
Five universal processes support movement from struggle to success and heartache to healing
Not linear — but patterned, repeatable, and navigable.
Theme 5
Healing and struggle are both universal — and personal
No one is exempt from suffering, but everyone is entitled to healing — in their own way and in their own time.
This understanding gave rise to Heal It Your Way™ — an approach rooted in autonomy, identity, and respect for individual process.
The Architecture of the Philosophy
These themes shaped what became the five-part Five Facets® Philosophy on Healing. Each part represents a distinct module within the program, offering clarity and structure without hierarchy or redundancy.

Part I — Back to Basics

Part II — The 5 D’s

Part III — The 5 Facets

Part IV — The 5 Steps of Healing

Part V — Power Mantras
Part I — Back to Basics
Back to Basics is the entry point of the philosophy.
This part begins the excavation of how an individual processes experience — both rote (automatic) and recognized (conscious). It establishes a reflective baseline through five universal dynamics:
- Labels
- Comparison
- Perception
- Aloneness
- Healing
The reflections gathered here are not evaluated as right or wrong.
They simply reveal starting points.
Part II — The 5 D’s
This part introduces five umbrella loss classifications that help individuals understand nuance within their loss event(s) and identify concurrent forms of loss.
The Five D’s deepen awareness without ranking or comparison, allowing complexity to be seen clearly.
Part III — The 5 Facets
At the heart of this philosophy are five universal facets, present in every individual (listed here alphabetically, not hierarchically).
Academic
How we think, process information, and make sense of the world
Emotional
How we feel, respond, and regulate internal experience
Physical (hex color #A1D683)
How the body and environment influence experience and expression
Social (hex color #d39000)
How we connect, relate, and orient toward others
Spiritual (hex color #9d1d96)
How we experience meaning, purpose, and inner guidance
The five facets form an intrinsic human blueprint — a fixed hierarchy unique to each individual, one that influences their thoughts, feelings, relationships, behaviors, and sense of meaning in varying degrees.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the “intrinsic human blueprint,” and why does it matter?
Your intrinsic human blueprint reflects who you are at your core—not what you do. It is the innate lens through which you naturally think, feel, relate, act, and make meaning of life. When this blueprint is understood, patterns that once felt confusing begin to make sense, and support can be tailored in ways that are sustainable and effective. Heal It Your Way™ isn’t a slogan — it’s the ethos that guides every engagement.
I’m an atheist—or not into “woo.” Will this work still serve me?
Yes. This work does not require spiritual, religious, or metaphysical belief. The foundation is grounded, consent-based, and focused on human patterns, awareness, and forward movement. You will never be asked to participate in practices that feel misaligned with your worldview.
Do I need to be grieving to work with you?
Not at all. While some people arrive during periods of loss or major transition, this work also supports clarity, identity alignment, resilience, leadership development, and personal evolution—at any stage of life.
Can this work support leaders, professionals, or teams?
Absolutely. This work is frequently used in leadership, professional development, and organizational settings. Rather than focusing on motivation or surface-level performance, it addresses the human patterns that drive communication, decision-making, and conflict. The same framework that supports personal healing also strengthens leadership capacity, team dynamics, and sustainable growth.
Do you integrate spirituality or intuitive practices into your work?
When appropriate—and only with your consent—spiritual or intuitive elements may be incorporated as supportive tools that align with your intention for our work together. Many clients engage purely through a practical, framework-driven lens. Tools are chosen with you, not imposed on you.
What is it like to work with you—especially if I don’t yet know exactly what I need?
It’s common to arrive with a sense that something needs attention, without having clear language for it yet. The work begins by helping you identify a grounded intention for a defined period of time—whether that’s a single session or a longer program. Sessions are collaborative, structured, and adaptable, with everything we do tying back to that intention so the work remains focused, relevant, and supportive of forward movement.
How do I know if this is the right next step for me?
If you’re seeking deeper self-understanding, clearer patterns, and practical ways to move forward with intention, this work may be a strong fit. A Heal It Your Way™ Discovery Call is available to explore alignment before committing.
Is this therapy?
No. Coaching is not therapy and does not replace mental health care. It complements therapeutic work by offering insight, structure, and forward-focused application. Many clients choose to work with both simultaneously.
How do sessions work, and how soon will I hear back after reaching out?
Sessions and engagements are available both virtually and in person, depending on location, format, and scope. You can expect a personal response to inquiries within 1–2 business days.
