Long before the idea of Happy Happens sprouted in my mind, I received great joy from seeing these spring blooms during my daily commute.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, I\u2019d round the bend in the highway, and my heart would soar.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Every. Single. Time.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

One day I decided I wanted to bring this kind of pleasure to my own yard.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I phoned the city\u2019s Buildings and Grounds department, who couldn\u2019t tell me from the design specs exactly what species they were.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Not to be undaunted, I took a photo and went to a local nursery.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Alas, the trees are sensitive to blite and wouldn\u2019t fair well on our land that is surrounded by an apple orchard.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

But that hasn\u2019t stopped me from enjoying them.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Two days ago these blossoms popped, and my joy meter went sky high.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The next day, I parked my car on a nearby side street and trekked on over to the hillside with my handy-dandy iPhone.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I love this shot because it shows all of life\u2019s stages: Budding. Unfolding. Closed. Open. Crystal clear focus. Out of focus. Delicate.<\/span><\/div>\n

I love how this brings together the sky, the earth, and all the stages of flowering\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n

This one makes me think of the cheery tune, \u201cOh, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

This view from the road makes the commute ever so delightful!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Even during the daily grind\u2026happy can happen\u2026anywhere\u2026 any time\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n
