We\u2019re on the road, again.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

(queue music\u2026)<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Our family minus one\u2026soon to be minus two, once more\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Beauty returns to college today.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Big Guy has a soccer game two hours from home, a quick jaunt compared to our usual destinations.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

And as luck would have it, the field is on the way to the college, nearly half the five-hour distance from our home.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Last weekend we made the long trek to Tennessee.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

One of Fave\u2019s competitions was being held on Virginia\u2019s border.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

My dad and stepmom joined us from their southern locale.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Two days of driving in four days, but it was well worth the time and energy.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of energy, when my children were little, I wrote (what little bit of it I did) at the end of my work day.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Not the closing of my day job, but rather the one that came after my little ones were tucked into neatly into bed, dreaming their own tales.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Once they became teenagers, my writing waned as I didn\u2019t have the oomph to outlast their late night stamina.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

But thanks to modern technology, I\u2019m now able to take my show on the road.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I spent yesterday at a track meet, then helping Warren with a job he\u2019s behind on.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As I settled down onto the sofa at nine o\u2019clock last night, all I wanted to do was sit and eat dinner.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Mindless activity was all I could muster.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

As I thought about today\u2019s post, the one I hadn\u2019t yet prepared, delight quickly replaced discouragement.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

A smile crossed my face.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

With a little design and twenty-first century devices at my disposal, I needn\u2019t worry my pretty little heard.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

I had a full day ahead of me and everything I needed to get the job done.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

My trusty ThinkPad.<\/span><\/div>\n

A smartphone equipped with a remarkable camera, and the My Verizon app that turns my little iphone into a powerful wi-fi hotspot.<\/span><\/div>\n

A handy dandy AC adapter to power said electronics.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

And Warren. After years of me doing most of the driving, he now jumps behind the wheel so I can write.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/a><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

My computer was also a welcome distraction from the s@!#<\/i> that swirled outside.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

(Can you believe it’s STILL snowing?!)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

But, hey, that white stuff gave me opportunity to play around with a few more cool and fun shots.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
