{"id":379754,"date":"2015-03-16T03:38:08","date_gmt":"2015-03-16T03:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.annahelizabeth.com\/index.php\/2015\/03\/16\/a-rebirth\/"},"modified":"2015-03-16T03:38:08","modified_gmt":"2015-03-16T03:38:08","slug":"a-rebirth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.annahelizabeth.com\/index.php\/2015\/03\/16\/a-rebirth\/","title":{"rendered":"A Rebirth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/annahelizabeth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Logo-4-final.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-4390 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/annahelizabeth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Logo-4-final.jpg\" alt=\"Logo-4-final\" width=\"506\" height=\"129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.annahelizabeth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Logo-4-final.jpg 506w, https:\/\/staging.annahelizabeth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Logo-4-final-300x76.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staging.annahelizabeth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Logo-4-final-480x122.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Happy Sunday, Journeyer!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I&#8217;m afraid I&#8217;ve been under the weather these past two days and haven&#8217;t been able to share my overwhelming excitement with my new website!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After sleeping most of the day away, I&#8217;m determined to post something from this new site and to continue the tradition of this Happy Happens column.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Those of you who&#8217;ve been hanging out here for a while know how much I love hummingbirds and the longstanding connection I have with them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It wasn&#8217;t until I  began preparing my Digging for the Light manuscript for print, when I decided to use this delicate creature as the scene break symbol, that I researched its meaning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Throughout history, the hummingbird has represented many things: Native American Indians considered these birds as symbols of peace, love, and happiness while the Taino people considered the hummingbird a symbol of rebirth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It is so befitting that Chad, my brilliant new web designer, chose to pluck the bird from all of my images and incorporate it into a new header, especially given the fact that he didn&#8217;t know the symbolic meaning or the one personal to me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">These past two weeks have been all about happiness, peace, love, and rebirth!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I enjoyed watching Big Guy and his teammates compete at the New York State track and field championships&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I felt the joy of a casual phone conversation with Beauty and Fave&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I felt pride as I watched several of Big Guy&#8217;s close friends perform their last high school play&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Laughed so hard I almost peed a little when I came upon an enormous pig walking down the middle of my country road!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Of course I stopped to try and help the neighbors who were trying to get the <em>oinker<\/em> to follow them back to her house and when she came right up to me and started snorting against my leg, I laughed even harder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The forty degree temperatures and the full sun that filled last week&#8217;s days brought excitement and sunshine to my soul!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">My heart swelled with pride and I enjoyed accompanying Big Guy to a college interview.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I received my pre-order gifts for Gretchen Rubin&#8217;s forthcoming book <em>Better Than Before<\/em>; I can&#8217;t wait to read what she has to say about the habits we form!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On Friday I received a nice recognition at work, which was truly appreciated given the recent struggles&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And then, the greatest joy of all was the finalization of this brand new, beautiful website and blog!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Happy happens, Journeyer&#8230;it&#8217;s often random and frequently flies in out of seemingly nowhere&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What about you Journeyer? What moment(s) filled your happy organ these past two weeks?
